The Harvard Approach: Humanizing AI Development

Harvard Law School

Cambridge, MA

Advancing in the way of your dreams takes courage, but building support to make dreams a reality requires leadership discipline and community.

Last week I became an inaugural member of Harvard Law School Executive Education's AI and the Law program, the first of its kind.

'Navigating the New Legal Landscape' brought together CEOs, Chief Legal Officers, Partners, and other thought leaders from across industries into a truly global classroom to tackle the 'everyone problem' of what this era of AI means for law, tech, and society.

From a technical standpoint, this program is a real world masterclass in bridging Human-Centered Design and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)-- the disciplines necessary to positively impact AI development.

The Harvard Law faculty:

- Prioritized our needs and perspectives
- Consistently challenged our thinking– exploring how technology use cases have evolved and what lies in future possibilities
- Brought clarity to various parts of the law where impact is happening, making the content impactful for busy professionals like myself.

If I were a lawyer (I'm not), I'd argue that Harvard Law School designed a program that centers those with experience wanting to prepare for AI in a meaningful way.

I'd also argue that the best part for me was further understanding the complexity evolving in this new era of HCI– shameless hashtag#roboticsprivacy plug >> https://lnkd.in/gxNRKKmF

Applying for this program was a natural evolution in my career goals.

I want to make real impact, not just at work, but also in my communities. hashtag#AIandtheLaw brought me several steps closer to that dream. I needed the support in building that dream. Thank you for the excellence in community.
